The Rock School

Our mission at the Rock School is to cultivate and inspire a love of learning in a calm, home-based environment.

Daycare (6 months to 3 years old)

The Rock Daycare is a home-based family daycare open Monday to Friday 8 am to 6 pm.

Our thoughtfully designed curriculum sparks joy, curiosity, and growth in children. Each day is a vibrant blend of engaging, age-appropriate activities tailored to nurture the whole child—intellectually, socially, and emotionally—in a warm, home-based setting.

Our daily journey begins with Circle Time, a group reading session at age-appropriate levels. For older children, familiarity with the canon of classic fairy tales is emphasized. This storytelling time builds a foundation for creative thinking and a lifelong love of reading.

Morning Wonder Time sessions introduce pre-math concepts through hands-on exploration of shapes, counting, and basic concepts. Art activities, including drawing and coloring, ignite creativity and fine motor skills, while daily discussions about the calendar help children grasp the concept of time and routine.

Song and dance time brings energy and excitement, fostering self-expression, coordination, and social connection through music and movement.

Weather permitting, daily outings to Central Park’s James Michael Levin Playground provide opportunities for outdoor play, physical development, and exploration of the natural world.

After School (3K - 5th Grade)

Each afternoon offers the perfect mix of activities to feed the mind, build friendships, and build lifelong skills—all in the comfort of a real home.

Our after-school journey begins with a healthy homemade snack, to rest and recharge from the school day. Children are invited to discuss the highlights of their day in a warm family-style setting, while learning about other children and forming bonds.

Homework time is a focused half-hour of study where children can begin or complete their daily school assignments, or get tailored help from a grown-up.

Children then enjoy Life Skills Through Board Games, a play-based curriculum that teaches five key life skills through structured play with their educator and other children.
